高知県立美術館舞台公演シリーズVOL.32であ り、また新年新たに立ち上げた「クリエイション05」の第３弾でもある、水田浩二「ダンス」　Ｘ　吉岡悟「映像」コラボレーション公演「カメラ･オブスキュラ」にお越しいただきましてありがとうございます。

「クリエイション05」(06,07,08と続く)は、美術館ホールが舞台芸術の創造に意欲的に取り組む意図を表明したものです。第１弾は、高知市出身の劇作家・演出家明神慈氏率いる劇団「ポカリン記憶舎」に新作の製作を依頼し東京と高知で上演しました。第２弾は、静岡県舞台芸術センターの協力を得て、同センター演出部所属の中島諒人氏に約３ヶ月間高知に滞在していただき、地元演劇人たちとイプセン作「ヘッダ・ガブラー」を制作し、世界演劇祭で有名な富山県利賀村と当美術館中庭で上演し好評を博しました。

第3弾であ る本公演は、高知市出身で、ニューヨークに本拠を置くマース･カニングハム舞踊団初の日本人メンバーとして活躍している水田浩二氏と、同じく高知市出身で、ファインアート･フォトグラファーとしてヨーロッパでデビューし、現在はアメリカで活躍している写真家・吉岡悟氏、そして音楽のやまぐちじゅん氏によるコラボレーション公演です。本公演は、高知県立美術館が制作し、本日が初演となるオリジナル公演であると同時に、水田、吉岡両氏にとっても記念すべき凱旋公演になります。また、音響、照明などのスタッフも地元舞台関係者を中心に構成しており、高知発の公演でも有ります。地元での上演を機に、お二人が一層国際的な活躍をされることを期待しています。

Thank you for coming to the collaboration between the art of dancing by Koji Mizuta and the art of image creation by SatoruYoshioka. The collaboration named “Camera Obscura” is Volume 32 of The Museum of Art, Kochi performance series, and it is the third performance of “Creation 05” that was launched this year.

“Creation 05”, which will be followed by 06, 07, 08 from next year, is designed to show the eagerness of the Museum Hall toward the promotion of the performing arts. The first performance was a new project of the drama group “Pocarine Reminiscence Troop” led by Yasu Myojin who is a Kochi-born playwright and director. It was presented in Tokyo and Kochi. We asked the Shizuoka Performing Arts Center for cooperation to create the second performance. Makoto Nakashima who belongs to the center's production department stayed in Kochi for about three months to produce Henrik Ibsen's HEDDA GABLER with local theater people. The second performance was presented in the courtyard of this museum and at Toga village in Toyama Prefecture which is famous for the Toga Drama Festival. It received a favorable review in both of these venues.

This is the third performance. This is a collaborative performance by Koji Mizuta, Satoru Yoshioka and Jun Yamaguchi. Mr. Mizuta is a native of Kochi and the first Japanese staff member of Merce Cunningham Dance Company headquartered in New York. Mr. Satoru Yoshioka is also a native of Kochi. He made his debut as a fine art photographer in Europe, and he is currently active in the U.S. Today is the premier performance in this series produced and originated by The Museum of Art, Kochi as well as the commemoration of triumphant return of the two natives to Kochi. Staff members taking charge of acoustic and lighting affairs are mostly Kochi-born professionals. This means that the third performance is genuinely a product of Kochi Prefecture. We sincerely hope that the performance presented in the homeland will make the two professionals more active and energetic in the internationa arena.
