Why do we exist?
Satoru Yoshioka is a leading photographer of research facilities around the world. He is highly trusted by researchers and facility personnel around the world. For this exhibition, he will present a series of photographs of the interior of Spring 8, a large synchrotron radiation facility in Sayo Town, Hyogo Prefecture, which also appears in the anime "Ghost in the Shell," printed with platinum palladium prints that can be preserved for an extremely long time on "Tosa Hakkinen Paper" from his birthplace of Kochi, Japan.

「何故、我々は存在するのか？」をテーマに世界各地の物理学を中心とした研究所の施設内部を撮影、写真作品として発表、
研究施設を撮影するカメラマンの第一人者として世界中の研究者、施設関係者から絶大な信頼を得ている。
今回はアニメ「攻殻機動隊」にも登場する、兵庫県佐用町の大型放射光施設「スプリング8（エイト）」の内部を撮影し、
彼の出身地である高知の「土佐白金紙」に超長期間の保存が可能なプラチナパラディウムプリントで焼き付けたシリーズを展開する。
